Modesty Means Men Too!

In all the modesty talks, the focus is usually on women, but modesty applies to men too.
  1. Extremes: The most obvious immodesty for men is sporting extreme hairdos and offensive clothing and accessories. Modesty is about being moderate and includes not showing off flashy, expensive apparel. Dress your best without being distracting, especially at church or in the temple.
  2. Tight Clothing: Tight clothing is just as immodest for men as it is for women!
  3. Revealing Clothing: If what you are wearing doesn't cover garments, whether or not you are endowed, then it is immodest. This rule applies to athletic wear as well. Of course some sports require certain clothing that may not allow for garments (such as swimming), but those activities are not excuses to be immodest.
  4. Words (spoken or written): Men are usually the most immodest when it comes to what they say. Repeating crude humor, sharing intimate activities, and using profanity are all inappropriate for a priesthood holder to do.
  5. Other Behavior: Modesty extends to all other behaviors, such as flirting, dancing, and dating. Also, support women by complimenting them on their inward and outward beauty and treating all women respectfully no matter how they are dressed.
Challenge: Be an example of modesty in all aspects to your friends.

    THANK YOU!!!! I love hearing this, from another member. I will keep in mind if I ever get saddled with talking about Modesty in Church, I'm including the men in my talk. Modesty has been too focused on dress and women, we must correct this.

    Do it softly and slowly of course, but correct it none-the-less. Thank you!

    Family Home Evening for Babies

    ldsclipart.com Family home evening can sometimes be a challenge because we don't know what to do. This is especially true for those of us with only a baby. There are plenty of ideas for single members, couples, and families, but I have yet to find good suggestions for planning a family home evening lesson for a baby (not yet in Nursery). So I compiled my own list: Read gospel-related board books. They are short and introduce common scripture stories in a very simple manner. Read the scriptures.     Romance

    Need romantic ideas? Try spiritual activities. Marital success is dependent on a love triangle between you, your spouse, and Heavenly Father. The closer you both become to Him, the closer you become to each other. My favorite romantic activity is going to the temple with my husband. Every time I go, my love for him increases and my resolve to reach exaltation grows stronger. Other great activities include reading your patriarchal blessings, working on family history, reading the scriptures, reading the Ensign and Church books, discussing gospel principles, preparing gospel lessons together, going to a temple visitor's center or other Church-related site, having Family Home Evening even if it's just the two of you, doing service, or attending a fireside.
